Picked up the Win9x version of this last week and have been playing it quite
a bit.

I can't get past Tricky Level 23, though! I've tried the suggestions in the
two walkthroughs I've found - i.e. bash across (losing some lemmings off the
left side), climbing up, and doing the "mine in the opposite direction"
trick...problem is, I can never seem to get more than 47 lemmings through
the level. What's the secret to eaking out that one additional lemming to
make the level?

Please post replies. Return address deliberately munged to avoid a deluge
of spam...

Thanks.

I made the very first lemming a basher and saved as meny lemmings as
possible. (just enough) then one lemming built bu to the ledge on the
right.

One of the lemmings still falling into the pit I turned into a climer
(to be sure of the direction it was goin in and just after he climes
up onto the final platform make him dig down a little and then bash.

Just done the last level of Xmas '93 - YEAH!

My main gripe about the W95 Lemmings is that the interface is
different enough from the DOS version that the play is quite different
on some levels. Tricky 23 is one of the ones that I had no problem
getting enough lemmings in the pit to save with DOS, but had the
same trouble you are having with W95.

It's not you, it's the game!

It's one of those buggers where even if you have the solution, it
takes a billion tries to actually get it done. A matter of exact
timing. Very, very, irritating. Other irritating levels in the
original Lemmings are the ones where DMA design wanted to show
off some fancy graphics. These days, of course, the graphics are
no longer fancy, but the gameplay is still shithouse. Ah well.

heres a easy way to pass it
make the first 10 lemmings athletes
the 11th one should bash
let 9 athletes go to the exit and dig with the last one, build, turn 'em around
mine.
i beat it on my first try like this
