Subject: Bruce Montague case, update
Bruce Montague, well known CUFOA member and Dryden, Ontario gunsmith, is
now being held in the Kenora, Ontario Remand Center awaiting a bail hearing set for Wednesday
Sept. 15, 04. Bruce is charged with cc section 91(1) (unlawful possession of a firearm) and there may
be other charges of which we are unsure at this time. The local radio station in Dryden, Onatario
states that Bruce is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unsafe storage and explosives.
CUFOA will continue to work at finding ways to get Bruce
released from police custody.
Donna Montague, Bruce's wife, is charged with cc section 91(1) (unlawful
possession of a firearm). She has been released from police custody after agreeing to certain legal
conditions.
She has now returned home with their children after a full 36 hour police
search of their home and premises. The family is doing well under the circumstances.
The OPP confiscated all firearms, all ammunition, all gun powder and
computer in the Montague home.
We will continue to update this story in the future with information which
we are able to release.

What's the latest on Bruce? Is he still in the clutches of the Gestapo?
Back in the 70's, the Sturm Truppen went through my place which resulted in
me getting a rap. Took years to get a federal pardon and my right to own
guns restored. That's why I'm a nice, "legal" Canadian gun owner now. I've
yet to see a gun worth going to jail for.
But, now there is more at stake than the mere ownership of a gun of
particular interest. Bruce, Eduardo and others are leaders in a critical
fight for right and principle to the point of great personal risk.
I grew up believeing that rebels such as Riel and Dumont were enemies of
peace, order and good government. The current revisionist view is that they
were heroes of civil, moral and property rights.
These men are cut of the same cloth and will some day be so regarded.
