WEST PALM BEACH � The surviving girl of a hit-and-run crash says that
before the driver took off, she stopped, got out of her SUV and
admonished her and her sister � as one lay dying � for playing in the
road.
Police later caught up with Leticia Flores, 28, who they say was driving
without a license Sunday when she plowed into the pair, killing 10-year-
old Darness Brown and injuring her older sister Darneisha Ellis, 13, as
they rode a motor scooter.

But Judge Ted S. Booras agreed with Assistant State Attorney Mary Ann
Duggan that Flores was a flight risk, and said he also had concerns about
her immigration status.

After the crash on Sunday afternoon, Flores, stopped, got out, walked
over to the prone girls and then got back in her car and drove away,
Slater said.
She was spotted pulling into the parking lot of the 7-Eleven at
Woolbright Road and Seacrest Boulevard and stopped by police. She told
officers she didn't stay with the girls because she saw people were by
their side, including one person who was performing CPR on Darness,
Slater said.

Are you just making a racist assumption? She could be Cuban, Dominican,
