From time to time these people show up. If you have ever been to my
page at http://www.1stinterstate.com/~laser/index2.php3 then you know I've
been using this graphic for quite some time(laser cutting the moon in half).
Recently (January 25th) someone created the domain
http://www.laserproducts.info/ and stole my logo. He didn't even have the
grace to redo the text, he simply cut and pasted the font to make it say
what he wanted. My boss graced me with the company lawyer so that will
help solve the problem, however I would like more information about this
person(such as a name) if anyone has any, also check his site and see if he
stole any of your artwork.
Thanks,
Jon
They used stuff from the Laser FAQ as well but I politely (well more or less
politely) informed them of this it has been resolved without any blood sucking
lawyers getting involved. At least they now acknowledge the source.
I was wondering where I'd seen that logo before. :)

I did an Alldomains search, but didn't find terribly much more than you did.

How many people on the laserist are likely to be buying the
products he sells? I would venture pretty few as the people in the
laserist list usually have a few clues :) His site is the digital
equivalent of comic book back page advertising.

Ah, guess it takes a plagirist to know one....or should that be fantasist.
LMR`s description of comic book back page advertising is laser guided
accurate, spot on ;-)

There are several things about his site that raise red flags, apart
from the laser content. It always bothers me when someone pops out of
nowhere; a Google search on "laserproducts" or "laseramazers" did not
turn up any hits. No one has linked to his page. The only off-site
contact information he provides is an apparently unlisted phone number
for an Indianapolis, Indiana suburb. Coincidentally, another company
with a similar name is in his neighborhood (same area code, one that
resulted from an area-code split, so it is smaller and newer than
otherwise), a company called, "Laser Sharp Products" (thanks to
"Anywho.com."
A small-print note at the bottom of his home page states, "A
PSYBERCORE.COM, INC. COMPANY." I've looked over roughly 70% of the
linked-content on psybercore.com. I get the impression that all the
people involved (including management) are young kids (meaning,
teenager to early twenties), ambitious, zealous and cocky. They
probably belong to a charismatic Christian denomination. I think they
would do the right thing if a trusted adult (like their youth pastor)
were to encourage them to do the right thing; they have been
"programmed" to slough off criticism from outsiders, perhaps with some
smart-alek comment.

Erm, make that Roman Catholic... The link at the bottom of their page
goes directly to http://www.vatican.va/ .
Either way, I did a Google search on "Telecore Media International,"
the company listed as the Psybercore registrant, and found only two
hits, one of which was, "SexSwap 11.20.1999 no.115." (The other,
"http://baracuda.virtualave.net/cgi-bin/sponsor/terms.html ,"
mysteriously disappeared from my Google screen after I visited the
site and returned via the "Back" button). The relevant portion of the
page is half-way down, titled, "401 NEUTRALIZER - PASSWORD HURLER
BLOCKER by Drew Star." Apparently, Mr. Star supplied the site with a
script to protect them from hackers trying to get free access. SexSwap
commented,
"I just want to say thanks to Drew for being so kind and if you are
looking for some of the hottest scripts in the porn industry, check
out
www.superscripts.com/ ."
Oddly enough, I did not find that endorsement on Drew's own site.
Anyway, the appearance so far is that Psybercore may not know how to
use a spell-checker, and may not know a laser from a flashlight, but
they are successful CGI-scripters.

I might wonder why they are so keen to swipe stuff? Why don't they
credit their sources? Why are they doing this?
