I bought a laser at a hamfest swapmeet a week ago and would appreciate any
help getting tech. information on it. It has a Siemens laser tube about 10
inches long, 1 1/4 inches in diameter. The tube has the following label.
Siemens
LGR-7641
Q4002-K7641
F-Nr. 098917
The power supply is two boards wired together. There is a label on the
rectifier board with the following: Computer Products
NFS40-7612
(720132-79)
Component Type
Custom Rectifier
Also a small triangle on this label with the number "2559" inside.
The tube tried to ionize a few times and then nothing. I can hear a high
voltage capacitor on the rectifier board arcing internally. Would really
like to have a schematic for this thing if anyone can help. My boys want
Dad to get this thing running. Thanks to anyone who can help.

See the Laser FAQ at the sites below. Plenty of info in HeNe lasers, power
supplies, characteristics, operation, repair. It may be that the arcing
capacitor is the main problem.

Could be a power supply problem or a bad tube. When it works, probably 2-3 mW.

Kind of tough when you don't tell us anything about it. What's the
model number? Wavelength? Any identifying marks?

Cheers
