Alternative to Macor as a shielding material

We are currently using Macor (synthetic ceramic) in various shielding / beam
stopping applications involving wavelengths from 1066nm to around 200nm.
Is anyone aware of an alternative that is less brittle and more conducive to
machining. We utilise sheet material as well as some round and square stock
which we mill and turn to create the required components.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I have always used blach anodized aluminum heatsinks with a high 'aspect
ratio' ie the fins are very 'long' and very closely spaced together. This
works great for lasers that are at near normal angles of incidence
