I recently purchased a Melles Griot 15 mW HeNe (632.8 nm) laser on
eBay. When I got it, I noticed that it didn't have an output coupler
or collimator on it, so I'm wondering as to where I could purchase
this item. I checked Google, and I checked Melles Griot as well as
eBay again and came up with nothing. Any help would be greatly
appreciated as I'd love to get started with some holography.
In addition, I'd like to know (for holography) if any of you use the
method of latensification. I've heard a bit about this, but I'm not
quite sure if it's such a good idea.

I assume what you mean is that it outputs a narrow beam that diverges
at 1 mR or so. To people on this group, the term "Output Coupler" has
a different meaning that what I think you are using.
So, exactly what do you need. For holography, you'd probably want a
diverging beam. You'd also want to clean it up with a spatial filter.
Also, FYI, I assume you are aware that a laser with a sticker rating
of 15 mW will be more like a 7-10 MW actual output.

I don't latensify for PFG-01 or PFG-03. If in doubt give it a try, there are
good instructions on Slavich's web site. I always assumed that was a pulsed
ruby thing.

Yeah, that's where I read about it a while ago. They say that
latensification should be used on PFG-01. But, I'm sure that either
way it'd look good. I've been researching holography for about a year
or so and I just finally got a laser that would work for my purposes,
so anything that I do would be good to start, as far as I'm concerned.

Single beam reflection holograms are a great place to start. They are fast
to set up and will get you through a lot of the vibration and developing
issues you may encounter.
Fell free to contact me if I can be of help. Or post to the network54
holography forum. It has been fairly active.
