According to a report in today's edition of the Las Vegas Review-Journal
(November 7, 2012), a gay bar called "The Eagle" (located at Tropicana
and Pecos) is facing the loss of its gambling license after gambling
commission agents witnessed public sex acts on the premises during a
recent "underwear night" promotion.
Though I don't patronize the bar myself, I know someone who does, and
being a tweaker he loves to blab about what goes on there. Public sex
acts do occur, but are nothing compared to the methamphetamine sales/use
that occur on the premises.
The bar owner, Judy R. Nelson, is shocked -- shocked, she says -- to
learn that illegal activity occurred on her property. I don't know how
long she's owned the bar, but I've been told that crystal meth sales have
been going on there for at least the last ten years, according to the
tweaker who regularly patronized that establishment during that time.
Again, I never patronized the Eagle myself, but I do remember hearing
graphic details of what happens there from a regular tweaked-out patron,
including the name of one of the meth dealers, "Maggie." Las Vegas
police probably know all about it, but are afraid to raid the place out
of fear of being branded "homophobes."
