Hello,
My name is Berndt Söderström. I am a Finn and I'm a native speaker of
Finnish (though my first name is of German origin and my last name is
Swedish). Here's the translation to English (I've added a left margin to
the translation to make it stand out from the rest of this message):

Rebecca Bloomwood,
It was really nice to meet you last week, even though the meeting was
short. You were obviously nervous, which was understandable. Despite
that I and my colleague admired your mindset that was different from
normal. We are sure that our company would benefit from you, and we
would like to meet you again, perhaps during a lunch.
Congratulations for your wonderful article in the "Daily World". You
are obviously skilled at expressing your thoughts, and it's a great
joy to get to talk to you in my mother tongue.
I wish you contacted me to the address above.
Best wishes,
Sincerely yours,
Jan Virtanen

Rebecca Bloomwood,
Congratulations again for your great performance - this time in "Caffè
del mattino". Your critical skill and opinions impressed me deeply,
and I believe that the Helsinki Bank would benefit from you.
You have probably received many job offers - with your talent you
could get any post from "Financial Times". I ask you, however, to
consider our modest company once more.
You would best work as a communications employee. We have a post for a
communications employee vacant this moment. The previous holder of
that post was fired after reading "Playboy" at work.
Best wishes,
Sincerely yours,
Jan Virtanen

Sincerely,
Berndt Söderström

Hello,
I am writing from Italy. Recently I have read the first book of the
best-selling "Shopaholic" series, "The Secret Dreamworld of a
Shopaholic" by Sophie Kinsella. The leading character of the book,
Becky Bloomwood, receives two letters in Finnish from a manager of the
Bank of Helsinki, who has been told that Becky can speak Finnish
fluently (which is absolutely not true). The book does not show the
translated version of the two letters, and I was not able to find
their translation, or at least an automatic translator from Finnish,
on the Internet. Now I am trying to ask for help in this newsgroup,
and I hope that someone will kindly translate these letters for me
into English (or Italian, French or even Spanish...). I have carefully
copied the text of the two letters as it was printed in the book (you
can find it below), but there might be some spelling mistakes (it is
not my fault), and the writer might have even made up some words; I
cannot notice this because I do not know a word of Finnish.
I wish to thank in advance anyone who will pay attention to my
request.
Alessia

Hyvä Rebecca Bloomwood,
Oli erittäin hauska tavata teidät viime viikolla, vaikka tapaaminen
jäikin lyhyeksi. Olitte selvästi hermostunut, mikä on aivan
ymmärrettävää. Siitä huolimatta minä ja kollegani ihailimme
tavallisuudesta poikkeavaa luonteenlaatuanne. Olemme varmoja, että
teistä olisi yhtiöllemme paljon hyötyä, ja mielellämme tapaisimme
teidät uudestaan, ehkä lounaan merkeissä.
Haluaisin onnitella teitä suurenmoisesta artikkelistanne "Daily World"
- lehdessä. Olette selvästi taitava ilmaisemaan ajatuksianne, ja on
suuri ilo päästä pian keskustelemaan kanssanne äidinkielelläni.
Toivoisin että ottaisitte minuun yhteyttä mainitulla osoitteella.
Parhain terveisin
Ystävällisesti
Jan Virtanen

Hyvä Rebecca Bloomwood,
Saanen jälleen kerran onnitella teitä hienosta suorituksestanne -
tällä kertaa Caffč del mattino - ohjelmassa. Arvostelukykynne ja
näkemyksenne tekivät minuun syvän vaikutuksen ja uskon, että teistä
olisi suurta hyötyä täällä Helsingin Pankissa.
Olette todennäköisesti saanut lukemattomia työtarjouksia - teidän
lahjoillanne voisi hyvin saada minkä tahansa toimen "Financial
timesista". Pyydän teitä kuitenkin vielä kerran harkistemaan
vaatimatonta yhtiötämme.
Parhaiten teille ehkä sopisi viestintävirkailijan paikka, joka meillä
on tällä hektellä avoinna. Toimen edellinen haltjia erotettiin
hiljattain hänen luettuaan töissä "Playbota".
Parhain terveisin
Ystävällisesti
Jan Virtanen
