KL Saighal has sung several ghazals by SImab, but I have not seen any
reference to Simab in the few books on ghazals that I have seen.

I believe one of htem is:

Ab kyaa bataaun mai tere milne se kyaa milaa
Irfaan-e-gham mila mujhe, dil ka pataa milaa

Manzil milee muraad milee muddaa milaa
Sab kucch milaa mujhe jo tere naksh-e-paa milaa

Does anyone have a collection of Simaab ghazals that they can post?

Here is a Seemab Akbarabadi ghazal from the Jiagjit-Chitra album
"Passions"(also known as "Black Magic" on CD):

ye kyaa jaane me.n jaanaa hai, jaate ho Khafaa hokar
mai.n tab jaanuu mere dil se chale jaao judaa hokar

qayaamat tak u.Degii dil se uThakar Khaak aa.Nkho.n tak
isii raaste gayaa hai hasrato.n kaa kaafilaa hokar

tumhii.n ab dard-e-dil ke naam se ghabaraae jaate ho
tumhii.n to dil me.n shaayad aae the dard-e-aashiyaa.N hokar

yuu.N hii hamdam gha.Dii bhar ko milaa karate to bahatar thaa
ke dono vaqt jaise roz milate hai.n judaa hokar

There is another Seemab Akbarabadi ghazal ("tere qadamo.n pe sar hogaa..") in
the album "Live with Jagjit Singh". If someone has the album or the ghazal,
and would be kind enough to post it, I would really appreciate it.

Keep smiling

Nita
