A ghazal by Shiv Kumar Batalvi

Hi,
I'm posting my first ghazal by Shiv Kumar Batalvi, and I hope, with your
help, to be able to post several more, along with their translations. Shiv
Kumar used a very pure form of Punjabi, and is, therfore, difficult to
understand. And I am by no means an authority on Punjabi or Punjabi poetry.
So, please feel free to correct or add to my translations, and the poetry
itself.
This ghazal is from Jagjit Singh's album called Encore.

mainu tera shabaab lae baitha
rang gora gulaab lae baitha
[ mujhe tera shabaab le baitha
rang gora gulaab le baitha]

vail jad vi milli hai farza.n to
tere mukh di kitaab lae baitha
[ fursat jab bhi mili hai farzo.n se
tere chehre ki kitaab le baitha]

mainu jad vi tusi.n ho yaad aaye
din-dihaRe sharaab lae baitha
[ mujhe jab bhi aap ho yaad aaye
din-dihaRe sharaab le baitha]

kinni peeti, te kinni baaki hai
mainu eh'o hisaab lae baitha
[ kitni pee chuka, aur kitni baaki hai
mujhe yeh hi hisaab le baitha]

changa hunda sawaal na karda
mainu tera jawaab lae baitha
[ acha hota sawaal na karta
mujhe tera jawaab le baitha]

'Shiv' noo.n ek gham te hi bharosa si
gham to kora jawaab lae baitha
[ 'Shiv' ko ek gham pe hi aitbaar tha
gham se kora jawaab le baitha]

In the album, Jagjit Singh sings this entire sher twice. The first time it
sounds like "peeti" and the second time it sounds like "beeti". I'm not sure
if that is infact the case. Also, there is always a possibility that Shiv
Kumar wrote it both ways.
