ENTRY GUIDELINES
~ The Poetry Super Highway Poetry Contest Is Open to all human beings
on planet Earth. (except for the three judges)
~ Enter as many poems as you like.
~ Please include all entered poems in a single e-mail
(not separate e-mails for each poem entered.)
~ Poems may be of any style, length, or subject matter.
~ Please paste poems as PLAIN TEXT into the body of ONE e-mail.
Text formattings (such as bolding and italics) and colors and
centering of poems ALWAYS make them more difficult to work with
and usually don't appear on my screen the way they do on yours.
~ Please include a separate list of your poem titles in your e-mail
submission (un-numbered, one poem title on each line)
~ Please do not send your poems double spaced.
If your poems come to us double-spaced, we will not accept them
and ask you to re-send them single spaced.
~ Poems must be e-mailed to Con...@PoetrySuperHighway.com
~ Please DO NOT SEND HARD COPIES OF POEMS THROUGH
REGULAR MAIL WITH YOUR PAYMENT. We only accept poems
in the body of an e-mail and we will throw them away unread if you
send them to us with your payment.
~ We DO NOT ACCEPT ATTACHMENTS. The text of your poems must be
pasted as PLAIN TEXT INTO THE BODY OF AN E-MAIL.
~ This contest is separate from weekly Poet of the Week consideration
Submissions for Poet of the week consideration must be separate
from Contest Submissions and the same poems may not be submitted
for both.
~ There is a One Dollar Per Poem entry fee.
~ Entry fee should be made payable and mailed to:
Rick Lupert
15522 Stagg Street
Van Nuys, CA 91406
or avoid stamp, check-writing, envelope, and mailing time by sending
entry fee via PayPal.
My paypal payment address is: Ri...@PoetrySuperHighway.com
It's free. Head here to sign up if you don't already to have an account.

E-mail address,
and titles of poems you entered.
(if you pay with PayPal, please include this within the note section of
the payment...if you're paying via regular mail, please include this on
a separate sheet of paper.)
~ Deadline for postmarking entry fees or submitting the entry fee
via PayPal is Saturday, October 7, 2005.
~ Regardless of when you postmark, your entry fees must be received
by Friday, October 13, so if you're mailing your entry fee, please
account for the amount of time it will take for your it to travel between
your home and Los Angeles.
~ This is a not for profit contest. All of the collected entry fees
will be divided between the authors of the top three scoring poems.
~ Once your entry fee is received, your poems will be sent with your
name removed to the three judges who will score them 0 - 5
(5 being best).
~ Your poems will not be forwarded to the judges until your entry fee
is received.

MEET YOUR JUDGES
TODD HELDT (Chicago, Illinois)
Todd Heldt completed the MA in poetry at Texas Tech University in
1998 and has published dozens of poems in magazines and on-line
journals. His chapbook, The Science of Broken People, was
published by Little Poem Press, and his first novel, Before You Were
a Prophet, is available through Hiss Quarterly at http://hissquarterly.com/.
He currently works as a librarian in Chicago, where he lives with his
fiancée and their adopted greyhound.
ELIZABETH ROSE (Lisbon, North Dakota)
Elizabeth Rose, born and raised on Eastern Shore of Maryland, is still
a Chesapeake Tidewater girl at heart, but lives now on the prairies of
Eastern North Dakota, where the only traffic is deer. After a career in
manufacturing and economic development policy in the tri-state and
the Baltimore-Washington regions, Elizabeth became disabled in 1998
and moved to be with family in Lisbon, North Dakota. She still writes
policy papers when she can, but has found time to enjoy the finer
things, like poetry and photography. Her favorite inspirations, in
addition to her adopted home and memories of the Chesapeak of
her youth are the wilderness areas of North America and the place
she considers a second home, Cape Cod.
BRENDA LEVY TATE (Yarmouth, Nova Scotia)
Brenda Levy Tate lives near Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, where she
taught high-school English until her retirement. She has written and
directed plays for young actors, worked as a singer in a theme park,
created a televised docudrama, collected fossils, raised a daughter,
parented a motley crew of pets and horses, and shoveled countless
tons of manure. Brenda is a member of the Writers' Federation of
Nova Scotia. She's been a finalist or prizewinner in several
competitions including the Winning Writers War Poetry Contest,
Glimmer Train Poetry Open, Web del Sol¹s Interboard Poetry
Competition and the Atlantic Writing Competition. She won the Rising
Tide Press 2005 poetry contest and as a result, Rising Tide recently
published Cleansing, a collection of her work. Her poems have
appeared in LilyLit Review, The Panhandler (Houston), Halifax
Magazine, Green Tricycle, The Guardian. Brenda maintains a
website at www.brendatate.com which features her unique
"paleo-poetry". She has just completed Nightingales Don't Cry, a
young-adult novel.
