Friends, aadaab.

In 2005, UVR SaaHib began a thread enquiring whether, for example, raushan could be made to rhyme with a tanviin word, e.g faur-an in Urdu poetry. This has been discussed in detail in the following threads.

https://groups.google.com/g/alt.language.urdu.poetry/c/DN0ihup5YMc/m/vMvy3rccAgAJ (qafiya tang)

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/alt.language.urdu.poetry/Qaafiya$20Tang%7Csort:date/alt.language.urdu.poetry/wmv9g96auwE/R8dix8rBSUEJ (A farewell to "qaafiyah tang")

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/alt.language.urdu.poetry/Qaafiya$20Tang%7Csort:date/alt.language.urdu.poetry/jAHspfplDgc/6sCszdHROYEJ (Qaafiya tang, paivastah ba-guzashta)

In this thread, I am putting together all the examples that I have been able to find. None of these finds are from a Ghazal. So, if any of our friends comes across such usage in a Ghazal, please add it to this thread.

Normally, one thinks of tanviin just as an "-an" ending but, as you are aware, one can have "-in" and "-un" tanviin too. I have found examples of "-in" tanviin rhyming with normal "nuun" but not "-un". However, I did come across an example from Persian poetry, just to show, that it does exist.
