Date of death of the poets

I am trying to list few selected verses to the some of the Urdu poets in the chronological order. In that I need to know the year of death of the poets. Somehow, I haven't been able to find it of the following poets. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just as you wrote in your original post, the name here is indeed 'Ram Rakkha', in the same vein as 'Allah Rakkha'.

There is one famous she'r associated with Madho Ram Jauhar. I have generally heard the first misra'a in a slightly different version than quoted on some internet sites, in particular Rekhta. Late Azhar sahib used to quote this she'r often, and I remember it like this:

ab i'tr bhi malo to muhabbat ki buu nahiiN
voh din hava hue k pasiina gulaab thaa

The slightly different version is:

ab i'tr bhi malo to takalluf ki buu kahaaN
voh din hava hue k pasiina gulaab thaa

Meter wise, both versions fit perfectly.

Will you please check with your friend Dr Maqbool and ask what is the correct version according to his hard copy sources?

Amazing coincidence. Dr. Maqbool called this morning to give me the years of birth and death of Madho Ram Jauhar which are 1810 and 1890 respectively. He, by the way, also mentioned about this verse. He said the one with takalluf is correct. I didn't ask for his source. I will check with him. He apparently has a good source because he was able to get me the birth and death years from the same source.

It is now confirmed that I remembered this she'r incorrectly, and the correct version has 'takalluf' indeed.

I absolutely love such coincidences. It has occasionally happened with Irfan sahib and RK sahib too, that my brainwaves sometimes inadvertently sync with my ustaads! :)

Maybe it is about time you put in my student application in front of Dr Maqbool? Please mention that I come highly recommended as a pupil in the school of Urdu poetry. References can of course be arranged as needed. :-)
