Dear Latinists,

I've got a Kyrie troped with a hymn to the Virgin that I wonder if you
might help me to translate. The text is pretty straightforward, but
that doesn't mean that I don't need your assistance (see below for
text and attempted translation)...

Gratefully yours,

ChoirMan

* * *

1. O sacra Virgo beata, Super omnes exaltata, Kyrie eleison.
Ora pro nobis Dominum, Patrem et tuum Filium, Christe eleison.
Ut cum mors dira venerit, Preces tuas audierit, eleison.

2. Mater Dei illibata, Excellenter coronata, Kyrie eleison.
Ut nos a malis liberet, Virtutibus coroboret, Christe eleison.
Ut per te fraudes Sathane, Queamus sic evadere, eleison.

3. Stella maris nuncupata, Et pauperum advocata, Kyrie eleison.
Tranquillitatem tribuat, In pace nos custodiat, Christe eleison.
Ut calidus diabolos Non nos percutiat invidus, eleison.

1. O blessed and holy Virgin, exalted above all--Lord, have mercy--
Pray for us to the Lord, Father and your Son--Christ, have mercy--
Be with us at the moment of death and hear our plea--have mercy.

2. Immaculate Mother of God, crowned above all--Lord, have mercy--
Deliver us from evil and crown us with virtue--Christ, have mercy--
?

3. Called star of the sea, and advocate for little ones--Lord, have
mercy--
Grant us tranquility and bring us peace--Christ, have mercy--
Do not let the dastardly devil persecute us with his bad ways--have
mercy.

So that through thee we may thus escape the deceits of Satan, have
mercy.

You know, when I was ten I was a soprano in a church choir. We came
second in a choir competition held in Manchester Cathedral.
