Dear Latinists,

I'm hoping you might be willing to clean up this translation of a 13th-century Marian hymn. It's just four verses (out of fifty!). If anyone knows of online translations of such hymns (vol. 35 of the Analecta Hymnica), I'd be very grateful for the link.

Many thanks!

1. Ave, virgo, lignum mite,
Quae dedisti fructum vitae
Saluti fidelium.
Genuisti Christum Jesum,
Sed pudoris non est laesum,
Nec defluxit folium.

1. Hail, virgin, gentle tree
which has given the fruit of life
for the salvation of the faithful.
You gave birth to Christ Jesus,
but he is not hurt by shame,
nor does the leaf fade.

2. Ave, domus castitatis.
Templum purum sanctitatis,
Dei plena gratia,
Nostram offer Christo precem,
Nostri cordis purga faecem
Delictorum venia.

2. Hail, house of chastity,
pure temple of holiness
full of God’s grace.
Offer our prayer to Christ;
cleanse the dregs of our hearts,
O forgiveness of transgressors.

3. Ave, virgo, caeli scala,
Fraudes hostis, mundi mala,
Pugnam carnis reprime,
Confundantur, erubescant,
Conturbentur et tabescant
Omnes hostes animae.

3. Hail, virgin, ladder of heaven.
Restrain the struggle of the flesh,
the frauds of the enemy, the evils of the world.
Confused and ashamed,
all the enemies of the soul
are troubled and melt away.

4. Ave, sacrum vitae flumen,
Paradisi purum lumen,
Nos clementer respice,
Intra domum ubertatis
Nos torrente voluptatis
Abundanter refice.

4. Hail, sacred river of life,
pure light of paradise.
Look kindly upon us,
that we may enter the house of plenty,
that we may be a torrent of joy,
abundantly refreshed.

WHO HATH given the fruit of life
for the salvation of the faithful.
You gave birth to Christ Jesus,
but THE LEAF OF SHAME WAS NOT DAMAGED
NOR DID IT FALL.

the frauds of the enemy, the evils of the world.
LET THEM BE CONFOUNDED, BLUSH WITH SHAME,
BE THROWN INTO DISORDER AND WITHER
ALL ENEMIES OF THE SPIRIT.

Look kindly upon us,
WITHIN the house of plenty,
REFRESH US ABUNDANTLY
WITH A TORRENT OF PLEASURE.
