I understand that the late Dr Peter J. Reynolds wrote one or more books
about Latin during his early career. I suspect that they are long out
of print now, but I would be grateful if anyone could help me by telling
me the exact titles, any co-authors, publisher(s), dates or any other
information that might help me to track them down. TIA

Perhaps you're mistaken. Neither Amazon.com nor Google.com can find anything
remotely related to Latin or the Roman Civilization in general.

A search of http://dogbert.abebooks.com/ on Reynolds, Peter J. only turns up

Reynolds, Peter J: IRON-AGE FARM The Butser Experiment (1979)
Reynolds, Peter J: Life in the Iron Age (1979)
Peter Reynolds (et al): Countryman magazine, Autumn 1970, vol 75, no 1
(Topics include: East Anglian heaths; farming; Herefordshire lime kilns;
Selbourne; Cornwall (photographs); penguins)
Reynolds, Peter J: Ancient Farming (1987)

Perhaps it was VERY early in his career?

If you're looking for something out of print, use the out-of-print search
engines like bookfinder:

www.bookfinder.com

It turns up quite a few titles by him. Dunno if they are the ones you are
looking for.

You can also try the high-priced version at alibris.com

Well, a search of a semi0decent library catalogue (lots of books, little
information on the records) pulls up:

Invasion: de bello Gallico, IV-V. (London, 1969). Presumably a
translation/edition.
In Britannia haec crescebant [De rebus antiquis] (London, 1969).
Brittania. [De rebus antiquis] (London, 1969).
Caesar et Britanni. [De rebus antiquis] (London, 1969).
Praeclara proelia. [De rebus antiquis] (London, 1969).
Stellarum fabulae. [De rebus antiquis] (London, 1969)
Geographia. [De rebus antiquis] (London, 1969).

De rebus antiquis, I am supposing refers to a series title.

Hope that helps,

Hardly surprising. These would have probably been published somewhere
between 1965 and 1970, and it just dawned on me that he didn't get his
Ph.D. till later.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I drew a blank on both of those. It's
made more difficult by there being more than one Peter J. Reynolds in
print.

Thanks, but I know about all those of those except for the reference to
Countryman Magazine. I'm 90% certain that the books I am looking for
were published prior to, or very soon after 1972.
