MANILA, Apr. 14 (PNA) -- Director General Santiago Alino, Philippine
National Police (PNP) Chief, today said that a PNP revamp is just like a
basketball game.

Alino was reacting to reports on a PNP revamp before the coming May
11, 1998 elections.

He said that just like basketball, the bench warmers will be given
positions.

He said the second line-up will be given the chance to handle
commands of responsibility.

The revamp will be good for the PNP, he said.

Supt. Napoleon M. delos Santos, PNP public information officer,
recently said that eight ranking PNP officers will be affected by a
revamp after the Holy Week.

Delos Santos said Sr. Supt. Arturo Lomibao, chief of the PNP
intelligence Group will be posted as the new chief of the Police
Regional Office (PRO) 3 in Central Luzon.

Chief Supt. Edgardo Aglipay, PRO 3 chief, will be assigned as chief
of the PNP Civil Security Group.

Chief Supt. Victor Tiangco, CSG head will be detailed as PRO 4 chief.

Chief Supt. Hercules Cataluna, PRO 4 chief, will assume as head of
the PNP Police Security and Protection Office (PSPO).

Sr. Supt. Robert Delfin, PSPO head, will be the now IG chief.

Chief Supt. Warieto Capran, PRO 5 chief, will be posted at the Office
of the PNP Chief, Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Sr. Supt, Jovencio Sales, head of the PNP Aviation Security Group
(ASG) will take over as PRO 5 chief.

Sr. Supt. Renato Paredes, PRO 4 deputy chief, will be the new PNP ASG
chief. (PNA) DCT/WI/rsm
