3-International auctioneer sets 3-day mega sale in Subic

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT, Jan. 31 (PNA) - Top quality brands and models of
trucks, passenger buses heavy equipment and other industrial machine are
up for grabs in the forthcoming mega auction where huge turnout of
international and local bidders are expected to make their ways to the
Freeport.

Asia International Auctioneers Incorporated (AIA) will offer a total
1,800 lot items of leading brands such as Izusu passenger buses, Fuso
trucks, Caterpillar crawler tractors, vibratory compactors, Mitsubishi
road graders and even hydraulic excavators.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman Felecito C. Payumo
expressed enthusiasm over the forthcoming auction saying that soon
enough the Subic Bay Freeport might just be known for being the Auction
Center of Asia.

More than 2,500 people, coming from more than 21 countries are
expected to grace the biggest auction ever held in Subic, to play part
of the exhilarating sale on February 9 to 11. Customs duties and taxes
of all imported items were fully paid by AIA that will be offered
without price selling a minimum amount requirement from the bidders.

"We are pleased to know that both local and international bidders
will be joining our locators in this mega auction. This means good
business not only for the ports of the SBMA but for the whole of Subic,"
Payumo said in a press briefing held at the Tribe Bay and Country Club.

The SBMA Chair further pointed out that an auction like this also
adds opportunities for employment and income for tourism related
facilities here such hotels, restaurants, golf course and other
amenities being offered inside the Freeport zone.

For the transporting of the 1,800 lot items for sale, a total of 29
port calls where made which amounted to more than P7.2 million in port
services. Last year alone, the company was able to put in more than
P42.2 million in contributions to the government.

Romy Armamento, AIA Managing Director, said decided to put up their
own auctioning firm after Richie Brothers Auctioneers Ltd. (RBA), a
Canadian-based auctioning firm, left the Subic Freeport, Picking up
after them and his fellow consignors joined together to form AIA.

"Bidders will be glad to know that what we are offering are
Complete-Build-up (CBU) units that go through a shorter distribution
channel and can be bought also by the bulk which makes the items
cheaper," AIA director Hiro Tsuchiya pointed out. (PNA)
