Metro: P1-M fire hits Quiapo house

MANILA, Jan. 21 (PNA) - A fire struck a two-storey residential house
in Quiapo, Manila at about 8:03 a.m. today destroying an estimated P1
million worth of property.

Fire Sr. Insp. Fennimore Jaudian, chief of the arson division of the
Manila Fire Department, said that the fire was doused at 8:40 a.m.
The house with mezzanine is owned by the Granhill Corporation and is
at 502 J. de Guzman St. Quiapo.
Nobody was injured in the 43-minute fire.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
A fifth alarm was flashed during the blaze, meaning that only
firetrucks from the city of Manila responded to control the fire. (PNA)
