Metro: Girl 5 dies in freak jeepney accident

MANILA, April 19 (PNA) - - A five-year-old girl was killed when a
parked passenger jeepney accidentally moved backward and ran over her in
Paranaque city this morning, police said.
Killed was Rosen Alma, 5, a resident of a squatter area near the
Water Fun, West Service Road,Sucat Paranaque City.
Investigation conducted by Senior Police Officer l Jesus Sudario,
officer-on-case of the Paranaque Police Substation 4, showed that at 9
a.m. today, a passenger jeepney with plate TXY-145 plying the
Baclaran-Sucat route, which was parked at a sloping area in the squatter
site, rolled backward.
Sudario said that in the process, the jeepney ran over Alma,
dragging her to the West Service Road.
Alma's head was crushed, resulting in her instant death, Sudario
said.
He said the jeepney's tires were not properly blocked, causing it
to move backward.
Sudario said he invited the owners of the jeepney who were
identified as Danilo Rosa and his wife,Rufina, of Espiritu Compound, 4th
St., Sucat, Paranaque City for investigation.
Charges of homicide through reckless imprudence will be filed,
