Felixberto Flores, 38, was arrested in Barangay Ermita, Cebu city
after almost a month of surveillance.
NBI 7 director Ramon Jose Duyongco said Flores is listed in their
order of battle as one of the city's alleged big-time drug pushers.
Intelligence reports gathered by the NBI showed Flores is supplied
with shabu from Ozamis city.
He allegedly buys one to two kilos of shabu weekly.
The search was authorized by a warrant issued by Judge Mamerto
Coliflores and was witnessed by Ermita barangay tanods Paquito
Alanto, Placido Dalogdog and Paulino Desierto.
NBI agents seized from Flores three big packs and two small packs
of suspected shabu, three big packs of dried marijuana leaves and
seeds, two cellular phones, a pager, a handheld radio, tinfoil, three
airguns and P1,800 in cash, believed to be drug sales.
They also seized a small box but could not open it because Flores
could not produce its key.
Duyongco said they will ask the court to allow them to forcibly
open the box, saying they believe the box contains more shabu.
Chemists will also determine whether the confiscated items are
indeed shabu and how much they weigh.
NBI was supposed to raid Flores' house Thursday but the suspect
already left when they arrived.
Had they raided the house then, they would have seized more than a
kilo of shabu, they said.
Duyongco said they got a tip from Ozamis city that Flores had just
received his supply Thursday.
He said they also suspect more shabu packs were stashed in Flores'
two cars.
They were not able to search the vehicles because Flores' two
drivers fled on board these.
Flores allegedly supplies the drug to clients in Cebu city,
Talisay and Minglanilla.
Duyongco said Flores' assets and his lack of a stable means of
income prove he is a drug dealer.
He said their surveillance showed Flores and his wife do not have
a specific and stable means of income yet they own a Feroza and a
Tamaraw FX.
The suspect is also said to own nine houses, one of which has a
swimming pool.
They also reportedly own a jetski and a speedboat and employ two
drivers.
Flores had been sentenced before with two to four years
imprisonment for illegal drugs, but he availed himself of probation.
He also has a pending drug case.
NBI will be filing charges for violation of the Dangerous drugs
Act against Flores. (PNA) JV/mnn/EB/RE
