Hello, all. Since Haloween is coming up I figured I'd give us all some
more practice with the language by posting a scary story. I'd love to see
more original compositions or translations on-topic like this.

A note on the text: Pacing is important in horror stories, this story was
written to be read *while* translating, and is so a bit fast-paced if you
can sight-read NGL. The grammar is fairly simple and the vocabulary is
98% Ogden, so it makes a good starter piece for learning. These three
chapters taken together are also the longest publicly posted original
composition in the language so far. Interestingly, it seems to have a
much better flow to it than anything I've ever translated into Tokcir, the
language has a bit of a poetry to it when read aloud that I'd never
noticed before.

Required knowledge:
Ogden vocabulary with a few Tokcir/Zumirtok common words (all in dictionary)
Cheat-sheet grammar, including case marks and full TVS verb inflection
Basic PVS verbs
ŋTe no? questions
Standard derivation
Posessives

[I'd like to propose that future translations/Compositions contain
something like this]

Since it's a bit long to translate at a single sitting, I've split it into
three chapters. One will be posted every few days with the finale being
posted 31/10/1999. The other chapters won't have this heading. As
always, I welcome translations, comments, grammatical analyses, etc.

So, lets get on with it:

Vocabulary:
*volef - wolf
