Let slrn users select a specific color/font for each "glyph" (char);
like this: http://jeff-relf.me/X.PNG

Thus, UTF-8/HTML support will improve.

Allow a -tiny- subset of HTML tags ( <A> and <PRE>, mainly )
and display it using slrn, not an external app.
Check for "Content-Type: text/HTML; charset=UTF-8", of course.

P.S. What year the jed editor first appear ( DOS/Unix ) ?

I can only imagine Mr. Davis and company have had Relf killfiled since
years ago.

slrn has no control over what font the user chooses for the terminal.
slrn interacts with the terminal via escape sequences, and as such,
has no idea what glyph is associated with a specific byte sequence.

I hope this clarifies things.
Thanks.

OK, thanks.

What year the jed editor first appear ( DOS/Unix ), pray tell ?

I ask because I think I was using it, back in the early 1980's.

I think I first made it available in 1992 or 1993. Before then, I was
an emacs user, which was not available for DOS. I tried freemacs and
microemacs but was not happy with either. I recall trying to modify
the microemacs code but found it hard to understand. In the end,
largely out of naivety, I wrote jed.

Not mine. You may have been using an editor by Jeff Duntemann, who
among other things, is the author of a well-known book on Turbo Pascal.

I was using jed first in 1993, when I was forced to switch from VMS
to UNIX and on UNIX there was no EDT or TPU.

What a good idea :-)

I have had a similar story: because (in 2006) there was no webserver able
to handle files > 2 GB, I was forced to write my own webserver.
