Decimal BASIC, an ISO standard BASIC for Windows now has a Linux version (so far only
in Japanese)

Since the keywords and reserved words are all in English, you should be able to run
it even if you don't read Japanese (I don't) This BASIC is updated frequently and
now comprises almost all the ISO/ANSI Full BASIC standard. Check it out. If you
use True BASIC, you'll be at home right away. If not, try it!

Tom,

Thanks for pointing this out. The last time I visited Decimal Basic the only
had the Windows version. Now if they would bring out a Mac OS/X and a BSD
version we would have a highly transportable language.
