I've got a small urban background and am installing a very simple
patio. I've seen photos of patios where there's grass growing between
the tiles and am exploring this as an option. Is there a name for this
specific design? Specifically I'm thinking; 2'x2' foot concrete tiles
in a 4x5 tile grid, with 6" spaces between the tiles. This would fit
my space.

Is 6" spacing, with turf, and 2'x2' tiles proper spacing?
Is there a name for this design so I can research it specifically?
I'm planning on a bed of crusher somethin'-or-ever (forget), then sand,
the tiles, and sod between the tiles. Doable?

Thanks in advance.

and how would you cut this grass? using a mower set at the lowest setting
will leave the grass about 2" high, and your stones will be lower??

seems to me it would be a pain in the butt to maintain

Looks cool though. Just mow it.

You might consider something like irish moss instead of turf between the
tiles. I actually think its perttier and it might save you on the mowing
problem. Most online nurseries like Gurney or Spring Hill sell it.
Just a thought. I would like to do a path myself using the moss but I'm too
lazy to lay the tiles. Good Luck!
