Why UK split between landscape design, management and science

I post the following on behalf of a colleague who does not have access
to this newsgroup. If you wish to exchange views you can contact him
on the email address at the end of this article.

Anyone interested in the strange split between the Landscape
Management,
Landscape Design and Landscape Science divisions of the UK Landscape
Institute? Surely this partition between diciplines lessens the voice
of
the whole landscape profession.

In Germany there is little difference between Landscape Architects
and
Landscape Managers. Is this true in the rest of the world?
