Help. I have just finishied a Bachelor's degree in a field that I
wonder why I chose in the first place. I didn't know what I wanted to
do right out of high school so I chose what I thought would be a good
career, nursing. However I do not feel that I can work as a nurse. I
have been researching different careers and I am very interested in
landscape architecture. If anyone could please give me information on
programs. Is it possible to get my master's degree in landscape
architecture with an undergraduate degree in another field? For those
of you that are landscape architects what is it like? What is the
future outlook? I enjoy nature, drawing and designing. Landscape
architecture seems like it would be a very satisfying career for me.
Please respond. Thankyou

>I would contact the nearest university with a landscape architecture program
and ask to visit and take a tour. Yes,you can get an MLA w/o a BLA but the
question is do you want to do jobs that require MLA qualifications or BLA
qualifications? The two types of programs differ, as do the job prospects . Ask
the school (s) about both levels of programs, look at the studios and then
decide. In the interim, look for employment in the green industry somewhere
(in a garden center or installation crew @ this point is your most likely entry
scenario. ) Idnetify what it is about landscape architecture practice that
appeals to you most strongly --- and if any of your nursing training can be
applicable in the la field. Good luck!
