By the way, Do you know James Sinatra? Last I knew of, he disappeared to
"the land down under" to teach LA at Melbourne. I knew him when....

Are there any landscape architects who would like to talk about pieces
of work or just a general chat about landscape architecture and urban
spaces.

He used to have an obsession with the cliche pink flamingos yard ornaments.
It was sort of a standing joke in the LA department at Iowa State for a
while. He had a couple that he carried around in the bed of his 1950's pick
up truck. One could find them randomly placed at strategic locations around
campus (ot town) at any given time. Flamingos would show up in student
projects, photo lab class, etc.
He also built an underground house. One of his proposals to landscape it
was to scatter seeds by launching them with a stick of dynamite to
demonstrate biological serendipity. Sadly, the city wouldn't allow him to
do it.
As you might assume, he was a little bit strange, which is a good teaching
technique to get design students to think outside of their box of routines.
He was a visiting guest lecturer at most of the landscape architecture
programs in the country, at one time or another.
