Most of the noticable damage is still to the vegetation. The wind did a
pretty good job of pruning the trees and, sadly, the blooms, so that
Key West is not as green or colorful as it was prior to this year.
Worse, there was a storm serge that covered the island with salt water.
This got into the ground water and was absorbed by many of the plants,
so of which are still dieing. Pretty mush all of the places the
visitors go have been fixed up althought there may still be workmen
palinting, etc.
The Hilton had its dock damaged and was completely replaced. The Ocen
Key suffered some roof damage which has been fixed, but the pier
outside of thier hotel was a complete write-off and is being re-built.
Estrimate is Feb. The Pier House had much of their vegetation affected
and they are replanting much of it.
