"The one of whom I'm about to speak, seems for the most a rather
pedestrian and quite unremarkable fellow within the general population
at large. In appearance he's of average height. Somewhere between
5'11" and 6'0". Though somewhat disproportionate in having a long
torso and short legs. Around a 29" to 30" inseam. He always seemed
full of energy though at the same time always relaxed and displaying a
meager appetite for food during shared meals. Which I'm sure lent to
his being almost "painfully thin" as it were. Thin and wiry. In
personality, he had a curious habit of directing most of his dialog in
the form of asking questions and offering very little in the way of
supping information and offering appraisals. Indeed, in those rarer
instances of supplying as opposed to extracting information, it was
done as though in a third party approach as it were. Something along
the lines of "someone I once knew, would probably say" followed by a
concise critique or assessment. Which all too often might be further
followed by a disclaimer along the lines of "not that I necessarily
hold to this view myself". One thing about him that could and often
was said by most, is that he measured his words very carefully and
precisely with splendid articulation and sagacity. The inquisitive
mode he possessed while conversing, never made one feel as though he
was prying or even extracting. It rather came off as genuine
inquisitiveness as someone taking an sincere interest in another. And
also as though he might be speaking to someone of a foreign culture,
of which he was attempting to garner a better grasp. While at the same
time not giving the impression of ignorance. Indeed it seemed he
understood and knew much. Very much. But was perhaps well beyond
feeling any need to demonstrate of flaunt his knowledge in order to
assert himself. A level of knowledge which seemed in a vague
underlying way to be vast. As though he had been alive a very long
time. Much longer that his actual years bore out. And that he had seen
much, learned much experienced much and accomplished much, but
outwardly was not giving away an attitude of 'been there done all
that' arrogance. For all I know, I'm the only one who's ever harbored
such suspicions regarding this individual. Not that I in any way felt
he had some shameful secret to hide or that there was anything
remotely dubious or sinister in his nature or character. Indeed, he
was quite a trustworthy and forthright individual. Though be basically
never brought forth much about himself. As far as anyone can decipher
he is a loner. A solitary individual, who spends a great deal of his
time in seclusion or off on some solitary ventures of one kind or
another. But not in any way did he appear to be a person of antisocial
tendencies. Of someone who had been somehow emotionally wounded in a
way that would lead to him withdrawing. I think it could be best said
in all fairness, that he was simply someone who was very comfortable
in his own skin and content with his own company. Distant, yet quite
amiable. He was somewhat eccentric in appearance at least in the way
he dressed. Perhaps "bohemian" would be an apt description. Though he
didn't give off the impression that he was attempting to exhibit any
particular style or look. That his unique ensemble seemed much more a
matter happenstance as opposed to being calculated. He chiefly wore
colors of black, grey and white. Leading some to suspect that he might
be color blind. Choosing colors that weren't really colors that were
incapable of clashing."
