New York (July 16) -- The Basque newspaper EGIN on Thursday published a
makeshift edition under the name "Euskadi Informacion." The eight-pages
newspaper was published under the direction of Martin Garitano, the
editor-in-chief of EGIN. The Spanish government on Wednesday closed the
newspaper and its sister radio station EGIN IRRATIA.

Yesterday, a demonstration of over 70.000 people protested the closing of EGIN
