Call for entries: Online Journalism Awards
Deadline for global contest is Aug. 28, 2000

The Online Journalism Awards -- the new international Web journalism
awards presented by the Online News Association and the Columbia Graduate
School of Journalism -- is seeking entries for its 2000 contest. The
contest is open to English-language content sites from around the world
for work first put online between July 1, 1999 and June 30, 2000. The
deadline to submit entries electronically is Monday, Aug. 28, 2000.
11 prizes in six categories, including:
General Excellence in Online Journalism
Breaking News
Enterprise Journalism
Service Journalism
Creative Use of the Medium
Online Commentary
Prizes are for stories original to the Web and for stories produced in
collaboration with media partners. Newspaper, magazine, radio, television
and multimedia sites are eligible (no geographic restrictions; the
stories have to be in English, though).
Winners will be presented their awards at the first national conference of
the Online News Association in New York on Friday, Dec. 1, 2000.
