This group is now in a death dive,
Like me, it's just barely alive,
And sans a lim fix,
I sadly predicts
That it will no longer survive.

Twixt desertion, attrition and spam
most folks here took it on the lam,
but still a few read
and post when some heed,
and one of those is what I am.

The joy has gone out of the verse,
As civilization's got worse.
But I still have a need
To peruse and to read
Rhyming lines about actions perverse.

Belated, I just saw your post
And yes Sir, this group is now toast
I visit sometimes
To cringe at my rhymes
Then back to the life of a ghost

What memories I have of this place
Where limericks were so in my face
But sadly, of late
My battle with fate
Has left me somewhat off the pace

I just learned newsgroups still exist
and still feel in shock that I missed
years of jokes quite obscene
which many people have seen
though non-natives barely get the gist.

I was here back in the day
When boys and girls came out to play
And much of the time
Was naughty a rhyme
While tumbling about in the hay.

(I also had a different name back then)

Oh, Arden is back, so is Frank!
Who is out there out I can thank?
I hope you both stay
and, if I had my way,
We'd pull a nice limerick prank

...and get the whole crew back to rhyming!
and in they'd again all be chiming.
There has to be some
who haven't gone dumb
and back on the horse they'll be climbing.

...or Bessie or sheep or mice...

My heart is now beating so fast
As rhymers return here at last,
But, now that they're found
Will they hang around
Or yield back to the recent past?

Now limericks is very hard work
I don't want to look like a jerk
With scansion askew
My verse will be few
But when I don't write, I will lurk :-)

Unacceptable, lurking, not writing!
You now must pen something exciting.
No difficult strife,
just write from your life
including all sucking and biting.

I'm sat here recounting my youth
Of verses and habits uncouth
But do I feel shame?
I don't play THAT game!
I'd do it all over...forsooth

I'm sucking and biting no more
She says it was making her sore
With gnashers removed
Our sex has improved
And now its no longer a chore

The death of this group may be close
But I won't get too glum or morose.
As long as I'm reading
Of boffing and breeding,
I'll never declare, "Adios!"

It's been a few years, seventeen
That 'round these here parts I've been seen
Amazed it's still going
The rhymes are just flowing!
And prose still a shade of obscene :)

While these posts are Yin to my Yang
I do miss the "regular" gang ...
Like Travis and Tiddy,
Their lims made me giddy
With their wit, their humour and slang.

Nice to see the rare free spirit sounding off!

Keep it flowing. Stay regular! Here's one from the Lucky Charmin Bog
Roll collection.

Ah, yes, that's a goodie, but oldie.
Yet Charmin's so brave and so bold, he
Took airs with the rhythm
And, Loki be with 'im,
Decided that he could withhold "he".

I'm sorry, Observer, I missed
Your note. Could you give me the gist?
It seems to be brief.
I hope—oh, good grief—
I hope that it wasn't, "I'm pissed!"
