Our client is a fast growing company at the forefront of creating software for Internet-enabled hard disk-based consumer electronics products. They have also raised over £5million from investors for funds to develop its revolutionary new digital home entertainment system integrating TV/video, radio, the internet and music. They have built up from around 12 at the beginning of 2000 to a staff of over 50 now. Terms and conditions are excellent too, with 5 weeks holiday, pension scheme, private health care, life insurance, and permanent health insurance. Culture is work hard but have fun – the relaxation area boasts Sky TV and a Sony Playstation! · To be involved with day to day assistance in product development, and building and testing prototypes, working with suppliers to fix design problems, and undertaking some hardware design themselves.
· Likely to be HNC or degree in electronic engineering with the emphasis on
hardware.
· Need to be able to do basic hardware design but also have a practical awareness of software.
· Able to read circuit diagrams, read mechanical drawings, able to build a PC including software installation.
· Experience of UNIX and DOS useful.
· Experience of EMC an advantage.
