JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer
LOCATION: Sheboygan, US-WI
JOB TYPE: Direct
SALARY : $45300 - $57200
DESCRIPTION:
Define, plan, and execute projects in a timely and thorough manner resulting in
improved customer satisfaction and decreased warranty costs for products.
Projects will follow the 6-sigma methodology and will use proven analytical
tools to solve warranty and product liability issues. Project management skills
will be used to own/coordinate the Warranty - Failure Analysis program, lead
cross-functional teams solving problems in diverse areas such as product
design, package design, sourced components, and manufacturing or assembly. This
position requires 25% travel.
Use available data to define projects that will result in significantly
improved customer satisfaction and decreased warranty costs; projects will be
prioritized by Corrective Action and Process Improvement (CAP) prioritization
methodology. Provide financial or other justification for projects.
Plan timely execution of problem-solving projects using appropriate tools; six
sigma will be the basic methodology followed in project execution.
Provide project management for cross-functional teams; members of teams may
come from Engineering, Customer Service, Supplier Quality, Purchasing,
Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, and other support functions. Drive teams
toward timely and thorough completion of projects.
Own warranty returns for the platform as a process to further customer based
warranty and defect knowledge.
Own unit failure rate analysis for NPD.
Provide appropriate communications to all stakeholders throughout duration of
project. Summarize and report results to all stakeholders upon completion of
projects.
Provide analysis to problem-solving teams in engineering for NPD and sustaining
projects. Participate on NPD project teams.
Provide analysis to problem-solving teams in manufacturing focused on unit
failure rate reduction and yield improvement .
Provide analysis to problem-solving teams in supply chain and PA support areas
focused on process improvement.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Corrective Action Process.
Coordinate corrective action globally with other businesses or customers.
Reports to Manager – Corrective Action and Process Improvement
Supervises project teams as assigned.
