JOB TITLE: Injection Mold & Plastics Engineer
LOCATION: Houston, US-TX
JOB TYPE: Direct
SALARY : $55000 - $75000

DESCRIPTION:
PURPOSE: To provide Engineering expertise/ support and project management for
plastics related projects. Responsibilities include process/tooling
troubleshooting, process optimization, tooling repairs/procurement,
process/component qualifications and equipment implementation.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
(Minimum) Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or scientific field
(Preferred) Master’s Degree in engineering field

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
(Minimum) Three years in a manufacturing environment with 1 year of hands on
injection molding experience.
(Preferred) Three years in a plastics manufacturing environment with at least 2
years of hands on experience with injection molding of medical devices.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Thorough understanding of injection molding principles,
good understanding of process optimization, design/construction of injection
molds, processing of various engineering materials; knowledge of basic
maintenance of injection molding equipment; strong project management skills.

DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Perform hands on process and tooling troubleshooting in injection molding.
2. Perform engineering studies using specific analysis to optimize the
injection molding process.
3. Coordinate repairs and modifications on existing tools and procure new
tools.
4. Perform process/molds and component qualification.
5. Specify, procure and implement new equipment.
6. Provide engineering expertise to support activities in the department.
7. Maintain current knowledge of safety standards and FDA regulations.
8. Provide plastics engineering expertise to support other department
activities.
9. Communicate with, suppliers and other company divisions regarding
department’s activities.
