$27.50/hrABR is currently seeking a Lead Production Designer for
a direct hire opportunity. This person will set art preparation
policies and procedures for Production Art staff. Mentor and
train Production Artists and Production Designers in the most
efficient and leading edge art production techniques. Produce
key print literature and digital media including Internet
initiatives, home pages and newsletters for all divisions of the
company. Assist the Art Production Manager, Sr. Art Director and
Art Directors with project approvals. Must be self-motivated
with strong production and computer graphic skills and
demonstrate supervisory skills when dealing with other designers.
Specific Responsibilities: 1) Produce key print literature and
digital media that is technically accurate, on target and
represents the company brand. Digital media will include
Internet initiatives, home pages and newsletters for all
divisions of the company. Highly visible print literature, will
include signage and Advertising support, critical new literature
creation, and new product introduction materials. 2) Establish
art preparation policies and procedures for Production Art Staff.
3) Concentrate on developing an outside resource pool to
alleviate the internal workload and allow our team to efficiently
handle the day-to-day workload. 4) Research and implement data
base publishing and web based publishing programs. 5) Research
and implement Macintosh computer techniques and offer ideas for
new equipment and software. 6) Use management skills to develop
art production and web teams. Relationships: Supervisory
Relationships Reports to Manager of Art Production Assists Art
Directors in developing creative materials when necessary Close
working relationship with the Manager of Art Production, Senior
Art Director, Graphic Designers, Communication Specialists and
Design Services clients. External Relationships Frequent contact
with outside art agencies, digital pre-press houses, paper
suppliers and printing companies Occasional contact with outside
photographers and illustrators.
