Investment Administration
Following six months training in the UK, the role will be based in Tokyo.
The main purpose will be to manage and develop a small team of staff and to
ensure the maintenance of accurate accounting records, accurate resultant
daily net asset values and high quality financial reporting.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Review of monthly control files
* Review of income projections
* Review of any miscellaneous reports as required
* assist in daily valuation process
* Review of financial statements for Japanese mutual funds
* Involvement with fund launches, mergers and other corporate activity
* Management reporting
* Managing external audit relationship
* To keep abreast of relevant industry and technical pronouncements
* Involvement in management of stakeholder relationships
* Plan, prioritize and organize the team's workload
* Monitor and control the use of resources
* Contribute to recruitment, training and development of staff including
appraisals, evaluations, goals and objectives

REQUIREMENTS
* CPA essential
* 5 years' managerial experience gained within a Fund Accounting or Finance
group/Financial Controller environment
* Knowledge of Japanese mutual fund and stock exchange industry regulations
and accounting standards
* Proven people management skills
* Must be PC literate including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
* An understanding of investment vehicles and the regulations governing
them is essential. Japanese Ministry of Finance (MOF) knowledge a
prerequisite
* Fluent Japanese/English important
* Experience of living and working in US/Europe an advantage
* Experience of living and working in Japan essential
