Location: Osaka or Tokyo, Japan
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Customer Services the Technical Consultant will
work closely with the client Sales Team, Professional Services Team and with
customers in both a pre-sales and post-sales capacity, with a focus on the
Asia / Pacific region.
Undertake software development for Professional Services
Reproduce, debug and sometimes implement software changes to resolve
customer issues.
Act as regional technical information resource
Provide technical training on products directly
Provide technical review and responses for questions both during project and
after project completion
Understand both technical and non-technical project requirements through
working directly with customers
Help prepare milestone focused project plans, working directly with
customers and provide ongoing technical project management of Professional
Services project
Help prepare budgetary development estimates and plans for Professional
Services projects Create Statement of Work proposals (written English) for
Professional Services projects Negotiate technical content of Professional
Services proposals directly with customers
Help prepare detailed project development plans, working closely with the
Professional Services development team
Requirements
Fluent English, spoken and written
Fluent Japanese, spoken and written
5+ years of system design experience working in all phases of software
development lifecycle
2+ years of working directly with customers
3+ years of embedded Java Software Development
3+ years of embedded C/C++ Software Development
Ideal Candidate Will Also
Experience integrating and porting software solutions to different hardware
platforms
Experience developing software for the TV and/or wireless markets
Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, networking and other web standards
Travel will be required.
