By Making it possible for
not one, but millions of new
voices to publish their
visions, by giving seekers
and researchers without huge
resources the ability to
collect information on a
global scale, by enabling
remote advocates and
activists to communicate with
far away allies -- The
Internet enables us to change
our lives and the world.

Starting from the city of
Toronto, the Free Community
Network Movement was founded
in the understanding that
global access to the Internet
can bring about a new era of
individual and community
participation in world
affairs.

The FCN represents a
movement towards a future
where we are not limited by
ever narrowing circles of
editors and censors, where
the news of the world is not
interpreted by only a select
few media outlets but told
with the knowledge and
sincerity of individual
voices speaking with the
passion and knowledge of
their own experiences.

The Free Community Network
is designed to be a model
that will be expanded and
replicated the world over
establishing a new backbone
of free access to global
communications.

The Toronto Free Community
Network (TFCN) represents the
first link in this chain,
currently registered as a not
for profit association, the
group is pursuing charitable
status and is working to set
up a free Internet services
provider which will connect
many free access points to
the Internet in the Toronto
Area providing free walk in
access to a wide demographic
of communities in our city.

The Goal of the TFCN is to
help provide the community of
Toronto with as many and as
varied free Access Points to
the Internet possible. The
volunteers of Toronto Free
Community Network are working
to bring the information
revolution to all citizens.

The TFCN's Notorious Net.Happening will
be a delightful evening of lively and
diverse music, low rent comedians and
an all-star side show of Toronto's most
notorious net personalities.

All are invited to come down and dance,
laugh and gawk in support of the
Toronto Free Community Network.
