I held some not registered channels: #GlobalRoots, #Vejle, #Hacking-School and
#Logic_Society
but now, is just this left for me..
#GlobalRoots unable to join channel (need correct key)
#Vejle unable to join channel (need correct key)
#Hacking-School unable to join channel (need correct key)
#Logic_Society unable to join channel (invite only)
I'm not sure of who hold them now..
#Logic_Society End of /NAMES list.
#Hacking_School End of /NAMES list.
#Vejle End of /NAMES list.
#GlobalRoots End of /NAMES list.
but it's still going on (channel theft). Every new channel I join, someone is
taking it away from me somewhen, and they have been locked for several months
now.
It's not that I didn't hold the channels in that moment. I was joined but got
somehow suddently disconnected and when I quickly came online and tryed to join
the channels again they were locked for me. I suppose they use something to
interfere with the client connection and then they join the channel in the short
moment I'm offline. Else I'm usually online nearly 24 hours 7 days a week...
"all the time". And then I guess they use some Virtual Host to just hold the
channels or they have a very stable connection? cause I wasn't able to get them
back for a long time now.
I know someone programmed your IRC servers, and I know those people can make a
change in the old programming and correct the lack of channel/user security if
they wan't. So why don't they do it? The IRC network is far too old by today's
standarts. ICQ and MSN is even much better, but IRC could be the greatest of all
chat nets if they just got some security measures ind, to protect the users and
their personal rights of using the network and so no one else could abuse it to
suppress other users. I call it abuse if someone is just kicking or banning
because they don't wan't to listen anymore or take the channel of some other
user just for annoying. I don't see any point in the old way this net is
working, it may have worked in the beginning when there were only few competent
users online and noone else. But today more and more not so intelligent people
have even got the controle of more channels, more stable BNC's to hold the
channels, lousy hacking utilitys and scripts and even higer admins controle over
the IRC nets. I would say your network is totally out of controle, you can't
controle any of the corruption and suppression going on, unless you shut all
servers down and rewrite the server software for better security. I don't ask
for total security against hackers because I know how difficult it can be, but
like I said before, just so stupid users can't suppress not so stupid users. I
find that would be a very simple matter of programming. I am a programmer
myself.
