I'm afraid you will have to crosspost this to more groups if you want
someone to help you. Try adding the news.* hierarchy.
: I just started a channel and now i want to keep a bot on my channel for 24
: hours a day.
: I heard it was possible but i don't know how.
It can be done, but if your bot sends roses to people, it will be killed
instantly. You weren't going to use it to send roses, I trust.

Do one of the following:
* Get a shell account that allows you to run background tasks, and run the bot
there.
* Get a dedicated Internet link and run the bot on a machine designed for this
purpose.
* Find a friend that can do one of the other two.

Hi,
Somebody has put himself in 'my chat-box' for 24 hours a day... I
don't like this at all!
That's why I was interested in the answer to the above question of
Erik (and in how I can remove the creep). Did I miss it?

If you create a channel you become the channel op in that
channel automatically.
There is an exception to this, if your on a network that
permits a channel to be registered and if you create a channel thats
allready registered, the channel will be created but you will not get
op in that channel. So on a network that allows channel registration,
you must create a channel that is not already registered.
If the channel allready exists, the only way to get ops in the
channel is for a channel op to make you a channel op also.
Exception, on networks that permit channel registration, the
channel founder or Super op (SOP) can set channel serve to
automatically op you when you join that channel.
Of the 3 largest networks, EFnet, DalNet, and UnderNet, only
EFnet does not permit channel registration. There are dozens, perhaps
hundreds of smaller networks that have so many different services
available, its impossible to even guess whats out there.
