Dear People,
Update on Undernet pro-child molester channel supporters.
I need your prayers. I have been offered to guest appear on a local
radio talk show to talk about child porn, and the Undernet in
particular. This radio station has approx 25,000 listeners on at any
one time on the 7 to 10 est timeslot. This talk show is totally behind
our cause to get rid of child porn and any irc server that allows it. I
will be joined by two others also fighting against child porn in other
media. I need your prayers for the words I will say when I appear. The
talk show host is going to try to get a Dean from one of the
Universities that helps host irc servers to come on line to discuss
their view upon this. I will update when I get more details about the
exact time, station(I know this one), and other guest names. I thank God
for this opportunity for this. I pray it goes through. Special thanks
goes to Don Ellis(d...@seark.net) for his dedication to the children and
his support of pro-life movements despite the spams, death threats,
calls of being a racist etc. Remember Satan will lie about people trying
to do good and use people has a instrument to do this.

That's nice.. does that mean that DALnet may be held liable for *any*
child porn that is somehow transmitted "through" them? I would be very

Ok! I am a father and not a victim. But I still think this subject is
important. If there were public assiciations and clubs for pedophiles
they would be closed at once. Why should we alow these channels on
IRC? It IS a problem that needs a sollution.
And let us keep faith out of this. Atheist, jew, muslim, christan or
any form of confession is irrelevant in this matter. Everyone that is
sick of pediphiles, anywhere where Internet can be found, should join
forces. Not only to protect the children, though that always must be
the main reason, but also to protect IRC.
What the pedophiles do, when they spread pictures and uses the net to
make contact, is to break laws in almost every country connected to
IRC/Internet and it will not be long before we may risk that policians
and the public oppinion will demand a closeure of IRC. But this is
only secondary to the fact that every child molested by events through
IRC is a tradgedy.
If it is so that the rumor is true about Rev White (Rev in what church
btw?) and he is also part of the american racist movement it does not
change the fact that we both put our children and the future of IRC in
jeopardy if we alow these group (read: The pedophiles) to work in the
open.

Just a little note from the peanut gallery on this entire silliness with
RevWhite and the "horrible" channels on IRC.
Keep in mind when you read this that I'm a fairly religious person myself,
and was raised with a fairly strong moral background.
Item 1. Servers CANNOT CONTROL what channels are formed on them. Unless
you want to sit down and write ircd code that automatically rejects any
channel matching any possibly objectionable pattern (lots of code to
write, btw), there's not a lot you can do. It's much akin to the "shooting
the messenger" mentality. I don't like the fact that people trade pictures
of children on the net; in actuality, I find it kinda sick. But, you
should be going after the perpetrators, not their Medium-Of-The-Week (tm).
It would have been like suing whatever television stations showed Jack
Ruby blow Lee Harvey Oswald away on November 24, 1963, when they, in
actuality, had no control over the event.
Item 2. You have to accept that not everyone in the world has the same
moral fiber as you either have or profess to have. It's been a tough
lesson for me, but I've had to learn it.
Item 3. If you really want to put a stop to this, get a log of the
perpetrators, and what they are doing, and talk to the administration of
their SERVICE PROVIDER. Notice I didn't say SERVER, I said SERVICE
PROVIDER. As an IRC Operator myself, if someone comes to me with problems
of out and out abuse, I tell them that the person's ISP has much more
control over it than myself, which they do. Quelch these silly threats of
calling the cops, calling the feds, going on radio shows, going on
CBN...they don't CARE about IRC. Hit people where it hurts: with the
people that provide their service.
Again, I am not advocating the trade of child pornography by ANY means,
nor will I ever. I simply wanted to present a better and more rational
alternative and viewpoint.

Hmmm...I had to look thru the whole list to find only a few channels which
name might suggest illegal things...unless ofcourse 'porn' (the adult,
consenting kind) is illegal in the US too. I'm getting the distinct
feeling here the Rev is just trying to ban everything which his church
doesn't approve of (ie #african-americans, #asia, #global_acceptance, you

It's interesting you mention this. Mr Don Ellis sent a mail to every member
of the senate and to the whitehouse. He even included the first lady. This
mail extensively talked about Undernet and child pornography. Undernet
members sent a few responses explaining the nature of DCC and the
impossibility of censoring channels. Well there was no follow up what so
ever by any of the people the orginal mail was snet to. Isn't it a very
clear message to Mr Ellis when the President of the United States ignores
his foolish ramblings? 60 or so people in powerfull postitions mailed and
no response. Mr Ellis should have got the message that he is a fool. It
seems he is such a fool that he doesn't even realise this.

Does someone have to state the obvious _again_?
Lets go back and review what we know:
1) RevWhite (PSB, Patrick Blakely, etc) was caught running clonebots, flooding
other users, harrasing other users, taking over channels, launching ICMP
bomb attacks against operators.
2) Some operators take action against RevWhite by G lining him and having
him K lined on many servers (ie, he's banished)
3) RevWhite lauches denial of service attacks against operators
4) All of a sudden, RevWhite starts posting to alt.irc.* about how the
undernet "must be shut down" because of "warez and porn".
5) People point out that RevWhite is not concerned about "warez and porn" and
is just a lamer with an axe to grind about the undernet
6) RevWhite insists that undernet and undernet ALONE fostered "warez and
porn", which any irc user can tell you is bogus. Specifically, RevWhite
tells all irc users to go to DalNet.
7) Several months later, RevWhite comes back and starts talking about how
he is a "christian, father, teacher", and how the CHILD porn of the
undernet must be stopped, by banning the channels from being created.
8) After many flame wars, RevWhite is only asking that the channels be made
"secret" so that they dont appear publicly to the /list command.
What else do we know?
* Revwhite never claimed to be a "christian" until he saw he could get a
reaction out of claiming that Undernet operators were "pedophiles and
child molesters".
* RevWhite knows very well that the transmission of child or other illegal
material is beyond the ability of irc administrators to control. However,
he knowingly ignores this, because those who wish to so fervently wish
to believe what he says do not stop to question the validity of his
argument
* While Illegal material may be in the possession of people who use irc,
Noone can snoop into their harddrives and find out who has what.
The problem of transmission of illegal material by persons who are on
irc is grossly exaggerated, for the purpose of embarrasing the political
enemies of those who are grossly exaggerating
* RevWhite knows that The "Child Pornography" issue is one that can never be
solved, and because it can never be solved, it offers an almost open ended
opportunity to embarras his political enemies.
* RevWhite never rails against irc _in general_ about the fact that irc allows
anyone on any network to meet with other people, and possible to exchange
files with them. No, RevWhite is against the undernet and _ONLY_ the
undernet, and ignores all the other networks that he knows this kind of
activity takes place on.

So the means to the end dont matter? Its ok if you ruin a few innocent
people's lives and reputations, so long as you get to your desired goal?
Hate to break this to you, but RevWhite isnt interested in the least in
seeing child porn removed from the undernet. The whole issue was fabricated,
and there are enough gullible people out there to keep this issue alive
forever. And that means an unending opportunity to embarras innocent
people, simply to futher the political goals of a person who couldnt
care less about the children who are explited by pornography, If child
porn was removed from undernet, it would end his ability to embarras
his enemies. He's not interested in that. So he chose an argument that
he knows will protact enough that he could never lose convingly.
If you want to attack irc _in general_ for this problem, then your stance
is legitimte. But havent you ever wonered why these people are ONLY
attacking the undernet, and not efnet or dalnet? They both also have this
problem. Havent you ever wondered if maybe the claims that this is all
a fabrication is maybe true? That maybe revwhite's motives are not what
you think they are? That he's explioting you and the sensitive issue of
child pornography to save his ego?
Without child porn, RevWhite would not have an attack. Child Porn
is _central_ to his message, because he saw there was no audeience
for attacking warez pups. He is exploiting the presence of child
pornography. That makes him just as bad as those he attacks.
Is _this_ what you want to support?
And no, i am not an undernet operator. I just hate the deciet that
RevWhite is spreading to otherwise well meaning Christians. He is
not your friend. He doesnt want to help you.

Don't you think someone reads that mail? Scans it for relevant stuff.
And then prints it out and gives it to the person concerned? Don't you think
that the people that scan the mail would have noticed it had been sent to
all the other senators and the president etc.. ? Don't you think that if
the mail had any relevance what so ever, alot of the senators would have
acted upon it just because they wouldn't want any of their collegues to
be ahead of them with dealing with this? Don't you think, that if the
mail was correct, they would have jumped on this to improve their public
image? Don't you think it's good publicity for a senator to attack
childpornography? In light of all this, don't you think they just all
thought it was the rambling of a fool?

I think that every man, with respect for himself, would take action
agains such
horrifying attack on a helpless child. Personally I get furious when I
hear of
such... I can't find words for it.
In this discussion I find a defense for war-scripts. I agree that the
Undernet should
be unmoderated: We need a place where we can discuss freely, without any
government
hanging over our shoulders. But all "normal" ppl can take action against
what we all
can agree is a demolition of a poor childs health and mind (and that for
the rest of
their life). I've never been molested, so I can't tell you how it feels,
but my anger
and normal sence tells me that this is so wrong.

The problem with this, is that flooding affects the network too, in a bad
way. Let me tell you something about the situation here in Norway. We
(IRCNO, the norwegian IRC-administration of IRCnet, former european part
of EFnet), have been in contact with the police, to find out what THEY would
like us to do. The answer we got, was "nothing". They wanted to take care
of it themselves, it is THEIR job. Anyone meddling into it, are potentially
destroying for their work. So, my answer: If you have proof, DEFINITE proof,
of illegal activities on the network, then contact the police. And someone
talking about trading illegal pictures is not proof. It wouldn't hold in a
court.
In short: stay away from such channels, and if anyone's gonna do anything
about it, it's the police.
