I have no trouble with DCC chat or file receives normally but when I
try setting up an Fserve using either Syris or Invision, users are
'Unable to Connect' and the DCC session closes almost immediately.
Local Host and IP seems to be picked up okay from the server though
I've tried changing these settings, as well as the DCC server
settings, to no effect.

I can think of two possibilities. First, the Fserve is set up on a
client machine in a two computer LAN using Internet Connect Sharing.
Second, I have Norton Internet Security firewall on the host computer
but it is set to permit all traffic associated with mIRC. I have
tried disabling the firewall but that didn't seem to fix it either,
and as I say I have no trouble connecting to other people's Fserves
and DCC'ing from the same client computer with the firewall protection
on the host.

Pls help...

Sending files using DCC requires an incoming connection be allowed on any
port between 1024 and 5000 (inclusive). You can select a different range of
ports for mIRC to use - as many or as few ports as you need -, and then
have the "server" machine forward incoming connections on that range of
ports to the machine running the file server.

You can't measure whether or not DCC will work by downloading files from
other computers. Receiving a file does not require an incoming connection.
Test it by sending a file or initiating a DCC CHAT with someone.
