BBW Bash in Austin, Texas (Oct 25-27)

essences and I went to the Sheraton hotel and checked out the banquet
areas, meeting rooms, lounge, restarant, pool, hottub, exercise room,
and rooms/suites. We are pleased with the accommodations. We've
requested ground floor, and all rooms will open to the pool/huge inner
courtyard, NOT the parking lot. You have choice of smoking or
non-smoking rooms, 2 double beds or 1 King. Each room has a fridge and
a desk. Each room also is LapTop/Computer compatible. Please reserve
your room as FAR in advance as you can. We've reserved a minimum of
*40* so far, and need to know if we should raise that number to 50.
The sooner we get some reservations made, the sooner we will be able
to plan the activities, supplies, discounts for suites, and other
wonderful details. The rate per room (not per person... per ROOM) is
$69 +tx, (deluxe suites are $135 +tx) and that is the price for anyone
calling RoseMary (512-836-8520) and saying they are with the FLIRTS.
The price is guaranteed not to drop OR go up between now and then, so
please book a.s.a.p.
We also have had requests for roommates! If you are interested in
rooming with another person, please email essences
esse...@flash.net) and let her know. Please include your sex, and the
desired roommate's sex (seriously folks.. this is not a matchmaking
service) and we'll set you up with some candidates to choose from.
(Also let essences know if you are a smoker / non-smoker / or don't
care 'bout smoke, and which nights you will be a guest.)
Details: The pool is 3-8 feet deep, and is very large. Lots of lounge
chairs, and a couple of soda machines... all set in a grass courtyard
with bushes and landscaping. It's very lovely. The exercise room- well
I'm not into that stuff.. but it appeared to be well.. an exercise
room. There's an indoor hottub, which is opened with your roomkey, and
it's 24 hrs. (as is the pool if we ALL BEHAVE OURSELVES!)
We were given 100 glossy brochures of the Sheraton. They include a
layout of the rooms, grounds, as well as pictures of the exterior and
interior (rooms, suites, pool, bar, restaurant, cute lil couple
lifting weights and hottub'in, etc). Please send me your postal
mailing address (not email) if you would like me to mail you a free
brochure. Requests sent within 24 hours, and addresses are kept
confidential.
Just to re-cap~ the Bash is October 25, 26, 27. (Friday - Sunday). The
above rates are also extended for our party should you wish to come a
day or more early, or stay a day or more after. IF you are flying in:
simply pick up a Sheraton Courtesy Phone at the Airport. It will
connect you to their front desk at the hotel. They have 3 vans which
rotate 24 hrs a day, and one will be sent to pick you up.
We will have a hospitality suite on the first floor. (Room 150).
Beverages and snacks will be available in this room 24 hours a day.
This is a private room, only our party has access to this room. We
plan to use this room for a general meeting place, games, late night
partying, place to change for swimming, etc. This room will most
likely be *unlocked* the majority of the time, so please leave
valuables in a guest room.
Guests will receive free buffet breakfast each morning, from 6:30 -
10:00 am. Lunch buffet (or menu service) is available from 11:00 -
2:00 pm, and of course dinner is menu only. The Sheraton DOES have
room service for those of you who can't get up outta bed without a pot
of coffee in your face. :)
Exact details on the activities are still being planned. But you can
count on a get together in the hotel lounge FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25 at 5
PM. Free munchies and Happy Hour Drinks! (the sooner we get the RSVPs~
the sooner we know the following agenda) There will be a $15 fee per
person to help cover the cost of food and beverage in the hospitality
suite, printing of 6 nametags per person, door prizes, decorations,
and various other expenses. We've done our best to keep costs down,
and hope no one is adverse to this fee. essences and I really don't
want to have any out-of-pocket expenses, over $15 that is.
When you RSVP, please include your online nickname, your *real* first
name, state you are coming from, and whether you are staying at the
Sheraton. It's very important to spell your online nick EXACTLY as you
wish it to appear on your nametags. An example of an RSVP would be:

Remember, *if* you are RSVP'ing as a couple, I'll need BOTH of your

flying SouthWest Airlines and do hope you enjoy your stay in Austin,
Texas... oops.. wrong commercial. Seriously... we hope to see ALL of
you in Austin this October. Bring your cameras, bathing suits, and

QUESTIONS I HAVE RECEIVED VIA EMAIL:
*Is this bash for singles only?
NO, it's for EVERYONE!!
*Is this bash for just #BBWFlirts?
NO, it's for EVERYONE!! Just so happens that all the fine folks from
#BBWFlirts are going to be there, and the 2 hostesses are also Flirts.
But we encourage everyone to come and have a great time with us.
*Where do I send the $15 fee?
I am collecting emails from RSVPs as I receive them. After I've
received 50, I'll then email you the Post Office Box here in Austin to
send that $15 to. Please remember to keep me notified of any changes
in email address, status of reservations, etc. And if you can't come
to the bash, the $15 is refundable in full.
*Where can I find some more info about Texas' state capitol, Austin?
My best advice is to point your web browser to:

businesses, environment, events, museums, recreations, transportation,
etc. It's the biggest and best collection of Austin info that I can
provide to you.
*Will it be warm enough to swim?
YES! I'm told (I haven't spent an Autumn in Austin yet) that temps are
'bout 78-88 in late October. So yes, bring some lighter clothes for
the afternoons, and that bathing suit is a must.
*Will I need to rent a car?
Depends on what you personally plan on doing in Austin. The hotel is
providing free airport transportation (to and from), and there are
stores and malls within decent walking/cabbing distances. Depending on
turn-out, I might even rent a van for the weekend, so I'll be able to
offer a few rides here and there, as well. If you would like to rent a
car, there are several rental agencies at the airport, of course. The
majority of the RSVPers have expressed a desire to simply park it at
the hotel for the entire weekend. So it's strictly personal
preference.
*What do I say when I call the Sheraton?
Ask for RoseMary (in Sales) and tell her you are with the Flirts or
Internet group. She's a wonderful lady with a beautiful accent, and
she'll help you with your reservations from there. Choices are: 1 King
or 2 Double beds, smoking or non-smoking, and room or suite.
*I'd like to keep expenses down, any suggestions?
Yes, email essences at esse...@flash.net and tell her you are
interested in being hooked up with a rooming buddy. Let essences know
if you are male or female, a smoker or not, and which nights you'll be
staying. Keep in mind, if you request a roommate, that means you'll
have to plan accordingly. (i.e., don't plan on bringing a romantic
partner back to the room, or playing the TV loudly all night, bringing
a laptop and hogging the phone line all weekend!, etc).
