Wireless AP/Router, Netmeeting, and Games?

On 1), the DMZ function on many routers should allow gaming. Check the FAQ
for the games. Activating it is not difficult, but remember to turn it off.
Use an auxilliary firewall as well, but now we're getting too complex for
some.

As for 2), you can call out, but not in. The router's address translation
gets in the way. Once connected, you're fine, but no one can place a call
into you. NetMeeting uses dynamically assigned ports, so you can't simply
forward some of the ports.

Let me piggyback a question on your post, though. I'm curious about using
Port Triggering on the Linksys and enabling WAN request to allow incoming
NetMeeting calls. Has anyone tried this? Successfully?

no more problem than setting up Sygate

I like the Linksys Routers "BEFSRxx" and a separate Apple Airport AP
"access point", you can then locate the AP for best area coverage
