Cisco has two products that appear to be virtually identical, except one has
a 50% higher price tag. Can someone in a nutshell explain the differences
between the two models?

AIR-AP352E2R-A-K9
AIR-BR350-A-K9

My intentions is for multiple, secure connections to one source (ISP setup
for small businesses in 6mile radius). Which one would be first choice for
this situation?

What brand is recommended for antennas?

Thanks,
Rocky

A great question Rocky!

There is little difference, but the usage for each does matter. The
"nutshell" version of your answer is bridges are for long-distance (up to 25
miles) and AP's are for local usage with no more than 1 mile of distance.

You are going to receive a lot of replies to this post and I'll leave the
long version of the answer you seek to another tech.

The answer to the second part of your question is a bit trickier. Six miles
is possible when you use the proper antenna. I have included a link to
antenna specs that will answer many of your question quickly. What can you
do with an Omni-directional antenna or a directional one. Ranges are
included and this assumes that you stay within the limits of the law.

I love the prospect of wireless ISP, but honestly I haven't found the
"golden nugget" or device that can completely answer that question yet. In
my opinion that product does not yet exist or is a well kept secret. Each
and every wireless ISP solution I have reviewed is flawed in some way. So
far, Cisco's Aironet solution is the closest thing that is available and it
is being used in this fashion.

I have a new forum available to you regarding this at our insider backroom.
Thus far, no one is offering that "golden nugget". Perhaps you will find it
and turn us all on to it.
