I bought a Linksys WET11 wireless bridge and succesfully installed the
bridge such that I can configure the bridge through my wireless network
either using DHCP or using a static IP address.
I cannot install the network printer on my network, however. I choose "add
printer" and give Windows XP the IP address for my wireless bridge. Then it
asks me for a username/password and I give it the username/password for the
wireless bridge and it just hangs up.
Any ideas on how to do this?
Would it be easier to use the Linksys WPS11 Wireless Printer Server instead?

Add the printer using the network address of the print server, with the
port, i.e., //jetdirect/p1 where p1 is the port number, if the
jetdirect acts like most print servers. You should have the chance to
browse for the server and port during the install, IIRCC. Be sure that
you have XP compatible drivers for the printer (or the entire effort is
null), and that the drivers are on the HD unzipped or installed to a
folder for access during the installation.

Thanks for the idea... unfortunately that did not work.
It turns out even the HP Jetdirect setup program cannot locate the printer,
even though the JetDirect card passes its test on the Configuration page and
even though I am trying the Hardware Address and IP Address which the
printer's Configuration page says to use.
So this seems like a Jetdirect setup issue to me, although I do not know
what to do from here.
Even without a printer installed, you should be able to see and ping the
jetdirect on the network. It should have its own IP, etc. Until this
works, there is no point in focussing on the printer itself. If you
have a static IP set up, is the IP and subnet mask correct for the
jetdirect?

Well, since the Jetdirect diagnostics were satisactory on the Printer
Configuration/Test page, I presumed these were set up correctly... I guess I
need to go back to the JetDirect documentation and look into this some more.
