Hello,

I am looking for Wireless ISPs using 2.4GHz equipment (or 5.8GHz for
that matter), based in EU countries and operating under ETSI rules.
There must be some, right?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Check out Solectek,

Solectek makes a range of products in 2.4 and are known for their channel
seperation and country specific codes in the radios. In the U.S. they
offer 11 channels and a variety of antenna combinations that are
pre-certified.

They are homologated and do not depend on 802.11b (CSMA/CA) for cell
coverage. They developed their own polling protocol to defend against
the nearest customer getting all of the pipe, it is like cisco's HDLC but
engineered for maximizing coverage for wireless. This also allows them
to be honest when they say they usually support 9-10 MBPS with LOS
(Fresnel zone with less than 40% impacted).

Their base station boasts a 400mW radio chipset and is designed for harsh
weather (waterproof & temperature rated, milspec connectors). Two of
these together can be a 30 mile link. They do this at sea to oil
derricks, in the deserts of Azerbaijan, between schools across wide
plains in North America, to ski lodges in Canada, etc.

Their CPE has a 200mW radio with an antenna that can sit behind a window.
This was actually part of the beta tests in San Diego. It worked every
time and offered the throughput of champions.

They price accordingly but have been known to work very hard for people
that can present a business plan, financials, and the chance to make
mutually beneficial relationships.

Apart from the *constant* sales pitch every time someone asks a
question, how does this spam answer the question of "are there any
WISP's in Europe?"

:-)
